Henry’s obituary [123] implied Elizabeth’s maiden name was MANNING, but the marriage reference in FreeBMD [462] reveals that as an error, unless Henry had another wife. If there was a “Miss Manning” her father may have been Robert Manning (source unknown). And given that Henry’s mother is believed to have been Mary Manning ABBOTT, that may be the source of the confusion.

Was the youngest of four sons [122] (or the second of three sons [123]) of Rev. John Chown of Kingsthorpe (this is the only documentation which links Henry to this John Chown, who in turn is poorly connected to his alleged father William).

A wife of Henry survived him but the name given in the source suggests (by the conflicting maiden name) she may have been a 2nd wife. [123]
