Research
It appears that Esther married William SMITH in the Dec. Qtr. of 1855. Northampton registration district, vol. 3b, p.139. But the 1871 census in Harpole, shows this family with a son born ca.1848, which suggests that Esther was William’s 2nd wife. The next child was born ca. 1857. Interestingly they lived next door to a Mark MAIN, on Main St. And going back one page in that census we find the household of an Eli Starmer, Esther’s younger brother.
