Misc. Notes
No records found for additional children born after son, William, in Harbury parish, through 1851. Likewise no records of burials from this family spanning 1828-1851 (see film reference from Source [765]. One possibility is that they moved away from Harbury after 1833.

Did not find records of any children born after daughter Catharine (1838).

Harbury parish, Warwickshire, was part of "Southam" registration district from 1837-1974. It also went by the names “Harberbury” and “Hungry Harboro” or “Hungry Harbury.”
Research
If this is the Catherine in the Harbury registers, she had a sister, Elizabeth, brother Thomas, sister Sarah, sister Ann, brother John Richard. Parents were Thomas and Sarah. A John CROSS was a witness at the marriage in Harbury.

Possible match in BMD Deaths: Dec. Qtr. 1860. SMITH, Catherine. Southam Registration District, Vol.6d, p.327 (this assumes she remained in Harbury).

Assuming this is the Catherine Smith, widow of the William who moved to Kislingbury but claimed to have been born there, it appears that she died in 1891 (shortly after the census): BMD Deaths Jun. Qtr. 1891, SMITH, Catherine, age 92, Northampton registration district, vol.3b, p.83. [462]

Starting with the 1851 census, Catherine’s birthplace was reported as Harbury, Warwickshire. But for some reason, her husband’s birthplace continues to be listed as Kislingbury.

Misc. Notes
At the time of death of both William & Catherine (1885 & 1891), the Registrar who recorded their deaths, was their neighbor, James L. Killingbeck. [2442], [2435], [2436]

Note that in the 1881 census, the head of the family recorded after William SMITH, was Thomas DUNKLEY. Thomas might be related to Elizabeth and/or Fanny S. DUNKLEY, who each married different men from the STARMER family.
Research
If this is the William in the Harbury registers, he had a sister, Elizabeth, brother Thomas, sister Sarah, brother John, sister Susannah, sister Ann. An Ann SMITH was a witness to the marraige in Harbury.

FreeBMD lists 8 deaths for a William SMITH in Southam registration district (which includes Harbury) in the period 1851-1900. The last two can be discounted because of the age at death (not recorded prior to those two). The remaining six are from the range 1854-65. This assumes William remained in Harbury. It is possible that one of them is for his son, William.

In both the 1851 & 1861 census, a neighbor of William was John SMITH (wife Mary) - for 1861 see household #126 beginning on previous page. For 1851, household 114, also on previous page. This could be William’s brother, but like William, John also claims birth in Kislingbury.

There was a William SMITH baptized in Kislingbury, 17-JAN-1802, with parents Thomas and Mary Smith.
And a William SMITH baptized in Kislingbury, 30-JAN-1803, with parents William & Lydia.

Also in Kislingbury was a William SMITH, born ca. 1803, Kislingbury, married to a Lucy (possibly MAWBEY in 1828 in Leicestershire), but they do not appear to have had a son, Thomas.

Is it possible William only married in Harbury but was really born in Kislingbury? How would he have met Catherine? But the Harbury marriage record says both were “of this parish” (Harbury)

If the William in Kislingbury in 1841 is not the William from Harbury, where was that William (and wife Catherine) in 1841?

No William (born in Warwickshire) & Catherine SMITH of the right age found in Warwickshire in 1841 census. But neither were they in Northamptonshire; the closest matching couple in Northamptonshire is the case where William claimed birth in Kislingbury.
