At the time of the birth of his sister, Grace, it was reported that his mother’s “other issue living” consisted of “Wm KATH.” This suggests that even by the time of Grace’s birth, the name of the son born in 1895 was still being “adjusted” and only later was “Raymond” chosen. [1688]

Was already married at the time of Draft Registration (05-JUN-1917). [2005]
Research
There is a Raymond Kath, in Harvard, IL, in the 1920 census, who is about the right age but the places of birth he reported for both parents do not match at all. If it is him, he probably wasn’t the direct source of the information. On the other hand, his occupation given in the census, “Tester at Creamery” is certainly consistent with his stated occupation in 1917. [2005]
