Misc. Notes
I’m assuming that Adaline and Malinda are the same person, since Malinda, by birth year (ca 1860), should have been in the 1870 census, but was not; “Ada” was. [4286]

The 1900 census indicates Malinda was the mother of 8 children, but none were living at that time. [4293] But then in the 1910 census, after the death of William McMACKIN, she reported having 2 children with one still living. [4342]

Since Malinda married William McMACKIN after the death of Russell LYBURGER/LYBARGER, the fact that she does not appear to have legally divorced Russell, no longer mattered. [4494] However, it appears that her marriage to William was not legal until the death of his first wife, Eunice. [4493]

Misc. Notes
In 1907, a search of divorce cases in Knox Co., Ohio, over the span from 1877 to 1888, found no cases involving Russell LYBARGER. [4501] And a list of divorce applications in Muscatine Co., Iowa, compiled by Gladys Mittman, and covering 1840-1907, also fails to mention Russell, though it does mention Charles A. LYBERGER.
Research
At first it appeared that Russell may have died before the 1880 census, as Malinda appears to be noted as a widow in the 1880 census (though the actual indicator of marital status on the form is subject to interpretation). [4287] However, she was very clearly noted as married in the 1885 census. [4288]

He was the only Russell Lyb?rger living anywhere in 1880 (based on census searches); statistically it seems that most people named Lyb?rger who were alive in 1880 were born in Ohio.

In 1900, son Charles reported that his father was born in Iowa, [4328] but in 1910 he said Ohio [4327] and in 1920 he said Pennsylvania. [4330]
