Research
Son-in-law of Julius BRINSTAD may have been Frank S. LYON (not LYONS), a resident of New York City as of 1927 [335, p.5]. A Frank S. LYON, age 56 (1884), lived as a lodger at the Hotel Shelton in NYC (ED 31-1012), 1940, married but not with wife; lived in Minneapolis as of 1 Apr 1935. He was born Minnesota. His occupation was World’s Fair exhibit salesman. But the Frank in Minneapolis in 1930 (ED 27-263) seems to have been married to a Harriet B. That Frank was “President, Rail-Road Corp.” It indicates he was married circa 1910, but no matching entry found in MOMS database. [1468] Also was married to Harriet as of 1920. He registered for the draft in 1942 while in NYC (address given as Shelton Hotel). Registerd for draft in 1918 as “Frank Shiland LYON.” He seems to be a match for Find A Grave Memorial# 126018044, and so probably was not married to Pearl BRINSTAD. So how did he rate a loan from Seaver E. OLSON?

The Minnesota marriages index lists:
HENNEPIN 03530452 08/03/1931 LYONS, HARRY F W BRIOCARNE, PEARL S
However, examination of the certificate on microfilm reveals that “BRIOCARNE” is correct, or at least, not a misspelling of BRINSTAD. [1468]

Research
10-JUL-2016: From 1910-1940, no index record is found for a male LYON or LYONS marrying a woman named Pearl BRINSTAD, anywhere in Minnesota. [1468]

If the Frank S. LYON who borrowed money in 1927, from Seaver E. OLSON, was Pearl’s husband, then she would have to have married before that loan was made, if Frank was in some way considered family. All of the other non-corporate recipients of loans from Seaver are known relatives. [335, p.5]

South Dakota, Marriages, 1905-2013 for Pearl WOODLEY, has her married to William Phillip LYONS on 13-OCT-1919, in Huron, Beadle Co., South Dakota. Specifically indicates that Woodley is her maiden surname rather than from a prior marriage. So it would appear that the Pearl LYONS of South Dakota [2068] is not Pearl BRINSTAD.
