The record of Ella’s marriage to Henry STRUM [sic] inexplicably states her mother’s name as Ella GRANGER. I also says her father was John PALMER, in contrast to “W.C. PALMER” from her death certificate. The record also implies her surname at the time of marriage was Ella P. SEWARD, but that her maiden name was PALMER.
So far I have not found a marriage record for Ella & Mr. SEWARD. But in the 1920 census of Lansing, there was an Alfred E. SEWARD who was married to an Ella P., age 48, born in Michigan (and parents b.Germany), though that marriage record has not been found. An Alfred Emory SEWARD of Lansing (son of Edward & Freda), died 21-MAR-1920, while still married, but the death certificate does not provide the first name of his wife. His Findagrave memorial (173014745) is linked to wife Lewetta WALKER (nee MILLER). This does not seem to match the man in the 1920 census.
