Misc. Notes
On 19 Apr 1910, in Alberta, Canada, Earnest applied for a Homestead for the property at NE Quarter, Section 19, Township 16, Range 9 W, 4th Meridian. On 2 May 1910, he filed for Pre-emption on the NW Quarter of the same section, but on 9 Nov 1910, requested cancellation because he discovered that the land was “all a Gumbo lake bottom and no good for agricultural purposes.” On the Homestead land, he built a 12’x14’ lumber home and a barn.

E. B. HANSON was the informant for his mother’s death certificate. [6870]
Research
An Earnest HANSON was a crew member on a ship (“Corvus”) that went from Vancouver, BC, to Tacoma, WA, arriving 8 Jul 1927. He was born in 1894 and said his nationality was Swedish. On the other hand, it was a common name in that time. And it’s more likely the real Earnest was still in Alberta.

Did not find Earnest/Ernest in the 1916 Alberta, Canada, census.
