These
links will take you to
live views of widely scattered places around the globe. The
degree to which the view is truly "live" varies, from continuously
streaming images,
to those which may update only once every 20 minutes. Remember to
take into account the time difference; it may be night at the
camera's location. One of the most truly live
experiences is the Abbey Road webcam, since it includes an optional audio feed in
addition to the continuous video images - it's like being there!
And of course the faster your Internet connection, the more live it
will seem. Occasionally these sites may require that you
"Refresh" your browser to update the image or reactivate the live
feed. If the camera images aren't behaving properly you may need to
try a different browser. And don't be surprised if some of the
webcams contain ads. Unfortunately sometimes these cameras or their servers
break down, are decommissioned or assigned a new web address. But I will try
to keep the list up to date.
