In 1920, she and her son were living in the John BENESCH household in Chicago. It appears from the census data that Mrs. BENESCH was Lida’s sister (both were born in Michigan and their parents were born in Canada). [1590]

In 1910, there was a household servant, Lida D. COY, age 16, living in Chicago’s 15th Ward, with the Barnie HECHT family. She was born in Michigan, but said her parents were also born in Michigan, contrary to the 1920 data.
Possible match on the Edward A. COY family living in Chicago’s 24th Ward, in 1900. Wife’s name was Ella J. One of their daughters was Lottie M., born 1885, and the youngest daughter was Lidabelle (or Ledabelle), born Dec. 1894 and who apparently was a twin with Laurabelle. The entire family reported being born in Michigan. Series: T623 Roll: 273 Page: 213B. Edward & Ella were married about 1882. He may have been Edwin COY in Shiawassee County, in 1880, at age 24. So perhaps Lidabelle changed her name to just “Lida.”
Familysearch has a birth record for a Lettie May Coy, born 17 Jan 1885 in Venice Township, Shiawassee, Michigan, to Edward A. COY and Ellin Jane COY.
Familysearch has a marriage record for John M. Benesch and Leta Mae Coy, dated 29 APR 1911, in Chicago. Actual certificate is online. And the 1920 census further shows that Leta and Lida were sisters about 10 years apart. Based on 1920 census perhaps Leta was originally Lottie.
In 1900, John M. BENESCH was living with his father, Frank, in Chicago’s 12th Ward. It shows he was born Aug 1885 in Ohio.
