At his first appearnce in the U.S. Census, 1870, Christian & Johanne (“Jane”) are living in the home of a widow, Berta OLSON (age 39) and her son John (age 16). If Berta’s husband had been a relative of Christian, I have not been able to find the connection. [2636]
He lost his arm when he was removing a shotgun from a wagon and it accidently discharged. [2688]

Washington State Archives lists a Johanna OLSON who died 30-APR-1915 in Spokane, age 89, but gives her parents' names as "Nels Walsted" and "Celia Flacker"
