Possible Death Records for William JOHNSON:
Mar Qtr 1841
Johnson William Northampton vol.15 p.229
Johnson William Lutterworth vol.15 p.123
Johnson William Daventry vol.15 p.180

Jun Qtr 1841
Johnson William Oundle vol.15 p.211
>>> The certificate for the above entry has been obtained and it gives the date of death as 15-APR-1841. Age at death was 84 and the informant, present at death, was Robert JOHNSON. This William was a Merchant. Interestingly, the Registrar was named Samuel SELBY. The 1841 census shows that Samuel lived on West Street in Oundle and confirms his occupation as Registrar. He was age 60-64 and born in the county. The 1851 census has him at age 74, born in Barnwell, Northamptonshire, and widowed; still on West Street and still the Registrar. Burial record shows he died in 1859.

Johnson William Peterbro vol.15 p.226
Note that the 1841 census was on 6-JUN-1841, so since it appears he was not recorded by that census, the above records are the most likely candidates.

Dec 1841
JOHNSON William Potterspury vol.15 p.237

Mar Qtr 1842
JOHNSON William Northampton vol.15 p.227

Possible death date: 21 APR 1841 (unverified)

There was a different marriage of a William JOHNSON in Oundle, on 01-JUL-1781, to a Rebecca EDIS, also of Oundle C of E, by License, but it is not known if this is the same William. If it is, there should be evidence of the death of Rebecca JOHNSON before 21 Mar 1786. [994] It is curious to also note that William’s mother-in-law (i.e., mother of Kezia SELBY), was the widow, Elisabeth EDIS, first married to a George EDIS. [994] The index entry for William & Kezia makes no mention of whether he was a bachelor or a widower going into that marriage.

Checked Northamptonshire Births and Baptism Index 1751-1812 [4646] for a William JOHNSON baptized in 1757 but did not find one. Others were born in surrounding years but none in Oundle. Either the year is wrong or he wasn’t born in Oundle.
