Misc. Notes
For his 1908 marriage, both “Roland Thomas” & “Thomas Roland” appear on the same BMD index page and point to the same register volume/page. On the actual certificate, the groom’s name is given as “Thomas Roland Smith” but the signature line says “R. T. Smith” (but appears to be the registrar’s handwriting). [462]

Note that in the 1911 census, even though Roland was only a boarder in the home of Herbert MAY, it was Roland who signed the census schedule, and signed as “Roland Thomas Smith”
[1312]

“Roland SMITH” was listed as single in the 1911 census, but Constance is separately listed as married, but not living in the same place. [1312], [5864]

On the 1908 marriage record, both Thomas and Constance were reported as age 21. In fact, Thomas was 19 and Constance was only 17. When they remarried in March of 1914, Thomas was listed as 25 and Constance as 23, both correct this time. [5862] [5957]

Thomas traveled with his wife and daughter to Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1939.

The passenger list makes it appear there was another daughter, Lesley, age 15, but I have not been able to verify this with any other records. Lesley was traveling as a student and with a separate ticket from the other Smiths.
