“Baby” with a capital-B is how Edith’s name was written in the 1910 census but it did say it was a female child. By chance, another instance of “Baby” occurs on the same census page (line 93), so it would appear to be a generic usage in spite of the capitalization. [465] Either both children had yet to be named at the time of the census, or the enumerator had a habit of not recording the names of children who were less than one year old. [465]
