Misc. Notes
As of the 1850 census he was living in Hepburn Twp., with his brother Samuel. [701]

Moved to Sauk Co., WI, at least by 1855. [597]

In 1860 he was living “next door” to Thomas B. ALLEN Sr. [588]

Isaac’s various close associations with Thomas B. ALLEN (including the naming of Thomas’ son, Isaac Thompson ALLEN), suggest that Mrs. THOMPSON was in fact Thomas’ sister, a detail which appears confirmed in the death certificate of Isaac’s son, William J. THOMPSON. [3983]

Some time between 1880 and 1884, the family moved to Sisseton, Roberts Co., SD. [688]

He obtained 160 acres of homestead land in Day County, South Dakota, BLM Serial #: SDMTAA 106374, 14-OCT-1891. [1580]

Death was definitely before 18-JAN-1913 since Amy was a widow when she died. [698] But after 4-JUN-1900 (1900 Census). [688] Also believe it was before 20-APR-1910 (1910 Census) on the assumption that “Annie L. Thompson” in that census was actually Amy. [945]

Misc. Notes
In 1860, Margaret and her children were enumerated by the U.S. Census first in Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania, on 27-AUG-1860 and then again, 11 days later, in Sauk Co., Wisconsin on 07-SEP-1860. [162], [1998] Even though this seems to suggest that they all went back home to Wisconsin after visiting Margaret’s family in Pennsylvania (and relatively quickly at that), William and Alice stayed in Pennsylvania for the rest of their lives. Only Margaret actually returned to Wisconsin.
