There was a KATH family that arrived in NY from Busendoff via Hamburg, Germany, 24-JUL-1843, on a ship named “Edward,” including a son named Charles, age 6, but the father’s name was John M. KATH and the mother’s name looks like “Maria”. But this conflicts with the idea that Charles’ parents were Charles and Mary, and with the fact that Charles’ son, Charles, claimed to have been born in Germany.
