Misc. Notes
At the time Renaldo’s mother wrote her will, she said he was living in Iowa City, Iowa, but so far no evidence other than that statement, has come to light in support of that claim. Though he was definitely in that state at least by 1860 [4282], [4285]

Historical note: apparently today, Richmond, Iowa, has been downgraded from a town to a “populated place” south of Kalona.
Military
Civil War: Company K, 12th Iowa Regiment. Enlisted 24-OCT-1864; Mustered out 26-OCT-1865. [4284], [4289], [4290, p.538], [4291, p.459], [4292, p.451], [1498, Memorial# 114701143] (company and regiment noted on gravestone inscription)
Research
01-JUL-2015: County Clerk’s office in Peoria County, Illinois, issued a “record not found” certificate, stating that no death record was found for Rinaldo/Renaldo TAYLOR in the period 1877-1899. [4311] This suggests that either his death was simply not recorded as expected in 1885, or he died in another county or state and is only buried in Peoria Co.

Renaldo’s middle name could be a variation of COSPER; possibly related to the Jacob and/or Peter COSPER who lived in Lycoming Co., PA, in 1820 (Jacob was also there in 1810). A descendant of Renaldo has found DNA links to that surname.

Rinaldo was not listed in “Gould’s Peoria City Directory for 1885.” But the residence address given in the undertaker records, 522 Perry St., Peoria, was listed as occupied by Maxwell W. Schultz (his son-in-law). [7972]
