Misc. Notes
The “EDKINS” spelling appears on his gravestone.
[1498, Memorial# 63831308]Since Elizabeth and her child were listed as dependents of her father as of 04-DEC-1828, and yet was later identified as Mrs. EDKIN, it is very likely that her child was fathered by somebody other than George. And in fact the latest information indicates that the child’s father was a Mr. COSPER.
[1824]Note in 1860 census of Shewsbury Twp. Sullivan Co., PA, neighbors Alice EDKIN and Frederick TAYLOR. Frederick’s wife, Margaret, is believed to be an EDKIN. However, there is no known blood relationship between George’s wife, Elizabeth TAYLOR, and this Frederick.
[4273], [4274] And the previous page of that census lists a Thomas J. EDKIN (probably George’s nephew), a William TAYLOR and a Francis EDKIN, who is probably George’s brother. Frederick was also a neighbor in 1850.

Misc. Notes
It is believed that Renaldo was not fathered by Mr. EDKIN. At the time the child’s existence was first recorded (1828), Elizabeth was a single dependent of her father.
[1824, p.20] This also is the reason for presuming that Elizabeth did not marry Renaldo’s father, along with the fact she gave him her surname rather than his father’s.
Nor is it certain that “George” was Mr. EDKIN’s name; it is only known that George married an Elizabeth. But it is also known that Elizabeth was married to an EDKIN before 10-JAN-1856.
[1773] And although George’s sister, Margaret EDKIN, married a Frederick TAYLOR, so far it appears that is a different TAYLOR line, from Ireland. Furthermore, although Frederick had a sister named Elizabeth TAYLOR, her husband’s surname was CORSON or COURSEN.
[4275], [1498, Memorial# 29966775]Elizabeth’s will was written 20-SEP-1864, and because Letters Testamentary were filed 29-SEP-1864, she must have died between those two dates.

Research
Margaret Haberman has a theory that George EDKIN’s wife was actually Elizabeth SHIPMAN, sister of Sarah SHIPMAN, however, the date she gives for Elizabeth SHIPMAN’s birth is 1793.
