“Derrick HOAGLAND” is listed as Ancestor #: A055778 in the DAR database (http://services.dar.org/public/dar_research/search/?Tab_ID=0). Two National Numbers (DAR applicants) are listed as descendants. Nat'l #: 225522 is Della B. Johnson ALLEN, who, as Mrs. Herbert V. P. ALLEN of Maplewood, New Jersey, wrote to the Pension Office in 1928, asking about the possible Revolutionary War service of a Derrick HOOGLAND whose birth and death dates match those listed here. However, the Derrick they had records for was the Derrick HOOGLAND who was born in 1751 and died in 1835 (this Derrick’s first cousin). [3529, images 291-2] Obviously she eventually produced a pedigree to satisfy the DAR of her descent from this Derrick. [3531]
