NameKatrin CAMERON [2138], [2139], [6112], 5G Grandmother
Birth Dateabt 1725
MemoThis date is only a guess for rough chronological placement.
Alias/AKAKatharin [6113]
Misc. Notes
The name of the estate or farm where Katrin was from (at the time of marriage) is difficult to read in the record, but looks like “Sheanbhail” or “Sheanbhael” in the parish of Dull. Lowell Stewart [2107] decided it was “Theandheil” but I am convinced that the letter following ‘n’ is not a ‘d’ but is more closely matched to lower-case ‘b’s found on the page and the first letter is almost certainly an “S” rather than a “T.” [2139] However, it appears likely that it is actually a corrupt spelling of “Sean-bhaile.” It may also have been known as “Shenevald.” It was located somewhere west of Glen Tilt, which is north of Blair Atholl. Though it is not clear how “Sean-bhaile” would be considered part of Dull parish, if in fact that is the estate named in the register. See also: http://www.borenich.co.uk/Place_names.html

See also 1783 map of Perthshire, which shows a “Shenevald” north of Blair Atholl:
