Misc. Notes
The 1870 census claims that daughter Clara and son Charley were born in Sweden, which is clearly wrong, given that thet were born after 1866, when the family arrived in America. [6587] [6589]

The 1880 census includes a son, Ansil, born ca.1871, but in his place in the 1885 census is daughter Emma, also born ca.1871. Not sure what is happening there. Also in the 1885 census, all the children from Clara through Bell, were listed as born in Illinois. But it is believed that from Ansil on, they were born in Iowa.

Sven’s son, Ansil, appears to have been born in Iowa, in 1871, so the family must have left Illinois shortly after the 1870 census.

Based on data in the 1905 Iowa State Census for some of his children, it appears that the family moved to Iowa, 1873-1875. [6671] [6672]

The 1900 census says that Sven was a naturalized citizen who arrived in 1866. He would have had to wait until at least 1871 to file a Declaration of Intent. If he applied after moving to Iowa, he would have needed to reside there one year before applying.

Misc. Notes
In 1851, Karna left home and became a maid servant in the household of Mats PEHRSSON, at Siretorp farm No.139. [2939], [2940] Then in 1852 she moved to Moreby No.130, continuing as a maid, but moving again in 1853 to Hosaby No.62 as a result of getting married. [2940], [2941], [2942]

1910 Census: “Corolina HANSON” reported being the mother of 10 children, 9 still living. This seems to discount the first Kersta who died in Sweden and suggests that either Ansil or Emma doesn’t really exist. And that one of the others also died before this census. [6623]

Informant at death was her daughter, Charity HANSEN. [6975]
