Research
Laura was the daughter of Jacob Abraham Fenstermaker (spelling on Findagrave) (1859-1939)
and Myrtle May Hurst (1883-1971)
“FENSTERMACHER” in obit. transcript on Findagrave.

Jacob Abraham Fenstermaker MEMORIAL# 132968633

1920 census spelling was FENSTOMACKER
1930 census: J A FESTERMAKER

The question is: is Georgine M., Laura’s daugther or Myrtle’s daughter?

Myrtle’s daughter Lucy was the only one for whom a PA death cert.
is available. She died at age 16, on 22-DEC-1929, Moreland Twp.
Father listed as Jacob A. FENSTEMAKER; mother as Mirtle [sic] HURST/HUNT

spelling for son Charles’ birth: FENSTERMAKER (1906)

Edith Irene FENSTERMAKER b. 25-OCT-1907, Moreland Twp.
father = Jacob A, mother= Myrtle M. HURST (from birth cert.)
MEMORIAL# 155978253 as Edith Irene Fenstermaker Roan
death cert: d. 29-SEP-1952, Muncy. father=Jacob FENSTERMACHER
mother=Myrtle HURST
husband=John ROAN 1907-1991 MEMORIAL# 155978243

Jacob & Myrtle’s son, Woodrow Wilson Fenstermacher 1916-2005 MEMORIAL# 25621977
was married to Helen ROAN. Obit indicates he was the last child of Jacob & Myrtle to die, preceded by Eleanor (“Ellen”) MAGILL, Ruth BROWN, Laura GEARINGER [sic], Lucy Fenstermacher, Charles Festermacher, Benjamin Fenstermacher. But this fails to mention Edith ROAN. Ruth, seems more likely to be his niece.
Ruth may have been Ruth Myrtle BROWN, wife of Frank Detwell BROWN (b.1915, Lycoming).

Helen Mae Roan Fenstermacher 1919-1998 MEMORIAL# 133006469

so, Edith & Woodrow married ROAN siblings

Research
Was his name actually “Alvin” ?
1910 census: Alvin E Gerringer, age 2, stepson of William E. Dirk. Mrs. Dirk was “Maggie B.” Alvin had a brother, Clayton L. GERRINGER, age 5. Clayton Louis Gerringer registered for the draft in 1940, at Milleville, PA. Clayton married a woman named Laura, thus the confusion with Laura FENSTERMAKER GERRINGER.
Clayton died Oct. 1974 (SSDI).

Death certificate of “Alvin E. Dirk” says he was a widower. Mother was Maggie YOUNG.
appears to be same person as in 1910 census, but informant reported Alvin’s father as being Samuel Dirk. Certificate says burial was in Millville, Columbia Co., PA, not Lycoming Co. as in Findagrave.
If Alvin was married to Laura FENSTERMAKER, this doesn’t make sense.

Findagrave says his mother was Margaret Belle YOUNG, MEMORIAL# 45454190
death cert: Margaret Belle DIRK, b. 01-JUL-1884, d. 27-JAN-1960, Muncy Creek.

1920 census shows him as Alvin E. DIRK instead of Gerringer. family had moved to Tioga Co., PA. William & Maggie with 7 children.
