She did go by the name GRAY even though Mr. GRAY did not marry her mother. [294]
Fairy was raised by two sets of aunt and uncle, Lillian & Burton Hager and Belle & Carl M. Ludewig [2130], though it is not known in which order. [34]

April, 1910, she was a boarder at the Mahala Fisk Pillsbury Home for Girls, on 2nd Ave. South in Minneapolis. Listed as the step-son of George SWINDELL in the 1900 & 1910 census. [319], [295]

On 3-Aug-1981, the Cook County Clerk at Chicago, IL, certified that they have no record of birth for a male Soames on 30-Mar-1888. As of 07-MAY-2010 the county’s web site also has no 19th century birth records for anyone named Soames or Somes. [1507]

William H. Soames grave: Section H., monument # H 859. 6th row east of ”Street No.4”; 23rd monument south of Kraus Ave. Suggested parking: about 100 feet south of Krause Ave.on Street No.4. Location verified in person.
