John was not mentioned in the probate petition in the case of his father’s death, but it is believe this is because he was really William John BELL, who was mentioned. Also, his mother stated in the 1900 census she only had 3 children total (and none living as of 1900), [5634] so William and John are very likely the same person [5400]
This might be “J. W. BELL” mentioned in Source [5406, page 236] and it says he died in 1900, but if that’s true, why wasn’t he mentioned in his father’s probate case?
