Elizabeth COLBURN was mentioned in Sarah HOAGLAND TAYLOR’a will as being her granddaughter [1773]
It may be worth noting, that in the 1900 census, which asked women how many children they had, total and living, no response to this question was recorded for “Elisabeth FEES”. [4167] This could be taken as an indication that Maude is not her biological daughter, in spite of what it says on Maude’s death certificate. [4166] Elizabeth would have been nearly 46 when Maude was born.
