Misc. Notes
Mahlon was his father’s eldest son & 5th child.
[1824, p.7, 11]Based on the large person counts in the 1830 census of William TAYLOR in Moreland Twp., it appears that Mahlon’s family was living in his father’s household that year.
[3615] Here is a possible interpretation of the age-bucket counts:
2 males age 0-4: Abraham & ?; (son of Mahlon & Elizabeth)
2 males age 5-9: John & ?; (son of Mahlon & Elizabeth)
2 males age 10-14: William & Charles (sons of Mahlon & Elizabeth)
1 male age 20-29: James (son of William & Sarah)
1 male age 30-39: Mahlon
1 male age 70-79: William (Mahlon’s father)
3 females age 0-4: Rosanna, Frances & ? (daughters of Mahlon &
Elizabeth; I have "b.1828" for Frances but that is a wild guess, as
there is no accounting for her outside her father's will).
1 female age 5-9: Sarah (Mahlon's daughter)
1 female age 20-29: Fanny (William's daughter)
3 females age 30-39: Elizabeth (Thomas) Taylor & 2 daughters of
William & Sarah: Sarah & Elizabeth.
1 female age 60-69: Sarah (Hoogland) Taylor.
1840 census suggests he may have had up to 5 sons and 4 daughters.
[1033]Mahlon & Elizabeth appear to have been members of the “1852/3 LYCOMING CHAPEL CLASS #1” of the Methodist Church Williamsport Circuit Station, Lycoming Co., PA
[1769]May have died in 1864, based on a deed transferring land from “TAYLOR, Mahlon Est.” to “Jno. H. Wilson” 24-MAR-1864 (Vol.46, p.372). (this may have been a delayed transaction, as it now appears that Mahlon most likely died in February of 1861, based on the proving of the will).
In 1858, Mahlon Taylor bought land in Hepburn Twp. from Gabriel Greenzweight (Lycoming Co., Vol.41, p.616). That would be the brother of the Benjamin Greenzweight who was living with Mahlon Taylor in 1860 (though in the census it was misspelled “Greensinge” or “Greenswige”).

29-APR-1859: Mahlon TAYLOR wrote a will.
[1758] The witnesses to this will were David HULL and Jane M. HULL, who, based on the 1860 census, lived four households away (in the census enumeration sense) from Mahlon & Elizabeth.
[308] David appears to have been a Presbyterian minister. It is also interesting to note that one of the executors of Mahlon’s estate was David MAHAFFEY, son of Moses MAHAFFEY.
[4061] At the time of the 1860 census, both Mahlon & David lived in Hepburn Twp.

Memorial# 143773926 was created on
Findagrave.com on 15-MAR-2015, but it does not identify the cemetery nor does it provide any better estimate as to when Mahlon died.
The Lycoming County graves index maintained by the Lycoming County Genealogical Society, lists two graves under the name Mahlon TAYLOR, but neither is a match for this Mahlon (as of 15-MAY-2015).
